Multigrainz momos

 Well ,who would like to indulge into momos? Me! me! me!..This one is for people like me who are on diet but still cant control the cravings to eat their favourite dishes.I prefer to call it" Diet friendly momos".Thank you Tibet for gifting us this wonderful creation.
The outer covering is made out of wheat flour,ragi flour and oats and inside is packed with soyabean chunks .If you are keto-friendly this is fittest for you.

MOMOS COVERING INGRIDIENTS:-

  • Ragi flour-1/2 cup
  • Whole wheat flour-1/2 cup
  • Oatmeal(grind to  form powder)-1/4 cup
  • Oil-1 tbps
  • Salt-to taste
  • Water-as required to form a soft dough
METHOD-
  • In a bowl sieve all the flours
  • Add the oil ,salt and water and knead into a soft dough
THE DOUGH SHOULD FORM GLUTEN,MEANING IT SHOULD BE A LITTLE STRETCHY AND SOFT THAT WHEN YOU DIG A FINGER,IT SHOULD RETRACE BACK.

FILLING INGRIDIENTS:-

  • Garlic -5-6 cloves(finely chopped)
  • Ginger-1 inch(finely chopped)
  • Green chillies-1-2(finely chopped)
  • Onion-1 medium sized(finely chopped)
  • Cabbage-1/4(finely chopped)
  • Capsicum-1/4(finely chopped)
  • Carrot-1/2(finely chopped)
  • Soya granules-1 1/2 cup(saoked and drained)
  • Dark soya sauce-1 tsp
  • Salt -to taste
  • Vinegar-1/2 tsp
TIPS--  TO CHOP THE VEGETABLE YOU CAN USE ELECTRIC CHOPPER IF YOU HAVE ,JUST TO SAVE TIME AND GET GOOD RESULTS,OTHERWISE HANDCHOPPING WOULD WORK THE SAME (IF YOU ARE PATIENT ENOUGH)

IF YOU DONT HAVE SOYA GRANULES IN HAND ,YOU CAN SIMPLY TAKE SOYABEANS ,SOAK THEM IN HOT WATER FOR 15 MINS ,DRAIN THEM AND CHURN THEM INTO A MIXER TO GET A CHICKEN MINCE LIKE CONSISTENCY

YOU CAN ALSO REPLACE SOYA GRANULES WITH CHICKEN MINCE IF YOU ARE A NON VEGETARIAN


METHOD-
  • Heat up a tablespoon of oil in a wok 
  • Add finely chopped garlic,ginger and green chillies and cook for 1-2 mins till the raw smell is gone
  • Add onions and sweat them a little
  • Add the cabbage,capsicum ,carrot, and cook for 5 mins
  • Add the soya granules and cook till the mixture is completely dry
  • Add soya sauce,vinegar and salt
  • Allow the mixture to cool completely
  • Now make the momos in desired shape and size ans steam for 15 mins
SINCE WE ARE USING FLOURS LIKE RAGI AND WHOLE WHEAT,WE NEED TO STEAM THE MOMOS REALLY WELL BECAUSE THESE FLOURS TAKE A LITLLE MORE TIME TO COOK AS COMPARED TO REFINED FLOUR.

VOILLA .ENJOY THE MOMOS WITH YOUR FAVOURITE CHUTNEY .

I SIMPLY BLANCH SOME TOMATOES ,PEEL OFF THEIR SKIN ,AND BLEND THEM WITH SOME GARLIC,GREEN CHILLIES ,SALT,CORIANDER LEAVES AND LIME JUICE.IT GOES SUPER WELL WITH THE MOMOS
