Hello foodies,
Sorry for being so late..Had been occupied by exams n stuffs
This time as i took out the pack of spaghetti out of my shelf, everyone started yelling at me!!!it's because they all were fed up of eating the same style of spaghetti but I anyhow had to cook spaghetti.I kept on wondering and came up with this idea!!
How about spaghetti cake,,To be honest this isn't completely my own recipe but 30% copied.. :P
Its absolutely healthy and filling and has very high nutritional value..just try it with the kids and they will love it.....
The best part about this recipe is that there are no particular measurements. All u need to do is just go with the flow....
Here goes the recipe for you
Ingridients:-
Sphagetti of ur desire(as promised to keep it healthy i have used whole wheat one)
2 Eggs
Tomatoes
Onions
Garlic(grated)
Zuchhini(finely diced)
Brocolli(tiny florets)
Celery(totally optional)
Spinach
Carrot
A bit of the pasta sauce
1/2  a cup of low fat creme
2 tbsp of low fat mozerella
1 tbsp of low fat processed cheese
Salt and pepper (as per ur taste)
Pasta seasoning (optional)

METHOD----
1)Heat some water in a pan and boil the pasta as per the instructions on the package

2)once the pasta is boiled keep it aside. In a separate bowl mix all the vegetables(tomatoes finel chopped, onions, carrot, celery, garlic grated zuchinni, brocolli).add up the pasta sauce in this stage only

3)Add the eggs and all the cheeses(keep a bit of grated mozerella aside)

4)Add salt and pepper and mix it very well

5)Add the pasta that u had boiled while on the other hand pre heat the oven

6)Add the mixture is a cake tin(no need to grease)..put it in the oven and bake it for 25-30 mins on 180 degrees.

and here u are with a lovely looking cake with devine flavours,Trust me children would fight for it and especially for that golden crust on the top...
yummilicious...

Do try at home and enjoy.. :) :)

My recommendations:-
Dont chop the vegetables too finely so that they get all mushy while baking.the small chunks give a wonderful texture to the dish

Try not to skip the pasta sauce although it is optional cus it gives that lill tangyness among the creeminess...

There is no limits of adding up the vegetables..add whatever u like except for the soft vegetable like pumpkin etc, they dont fit in the recipe.

Comments

  1. Beacuse the eggs really help in giving a good texture..otherwise u can increase the amount of cheese and creme..but it will not give that much stiffness to the cake...otherwise it ll taste the same..
    hope it will help...
